Spilið Rúnir og goð skiptist í tvo spilastokka, í öðrum þeirra eru rúnirnar, ein rún á hverju spili og tvö spil fyrir hverja rún. Hægt er að leggja niður rúnaspil og fræðast um rúnirnar og myndræna formbyggingu þeirra eða nýta spilið sem minnisspil. Hinn stokkurinn snýr að goðafræðinni. Í þeim spilastokki eru 104 spilaspjöld og a þeim spilum eru goðin, ásynjur, jötnar og öll helstu kennimerki goðafræðinnar og þeim lýst. Lesin er upp lýsing af spili sem dregið er og spurt við hvern eða hvað lýsingin á. Þannig myndast fróðleikur um efnið á skemmtilegan og hagnýtan hátt. Spilið getur vel hentað miðstigi í grunnskóla og uppúr sem skemmtilegt og fræðandi kennslugagn en einnig fyrir fjölskyldur og fólk almennt. Þá er ég að vinna að þýðingu á spilinu á ensku, sem verður tilbúin í byrjun árs 2019.

Runes and Gods is two games in one. It comes with two decks of cards that can be used in many ways. 

THE GAME OF GODS

The Game of Gods includes 104 cards with interesting facts about all the major landmarks, gods, goddesses and giants that feature in Snorri Sturluson’s Prose Edda, written in the 13th century.

The players take turns in asking the person sitting on their left to guess the right character. The question must always be: Who or what am I describing? Then the player reads the description on the card, without giving away the name of who or what is being described. This allows players to learn in a fun and practical way, while gathering points.

The player has one minute to answer and receives one point for the right answer. The players keep track of their own scores.

If a player gives a wrong answer or has no answer at all, the other players have a chance to answer. Quick thinking is needed, because the first player to provide the right answer in 10 seconds scores half a point. The person reading the question keeps track of time.

Continue until you’ve finished all the cards in the deck.

The object of the game is to collect points. The player with the highest score when the deck is finished, wins the game.

THE GAME OF RUNES

The Game of Runes is a memory card game that includes 56 cards. Each contains one rune with two cards for each rune. Shuffle the cards and lay them, face down, on a surface. The players take turns in flipping two cards over each turn, trying to find a pair of matching runes. The player with the most pairs when the last pair has been picked up wins the game.

Playing the Game of Runes provides knowledge of the old runes and their figurative structure.

Both decks of cards provide knowledge and enjoyment, even without other players.
